Pokémon trading cards are delivering an unexpected performance in 2026. According to the latest CoinDesk data, the PV100 Pokémon card index has gained 27.9% year to date, compared with a 12.8% rise for the S&P 500 and a 28.8% decline for Bitcoin.
The figures highlight growing interest in the collectibles market, which is estimated to be worth $13–15 billion. As demand for alternative collectible assets continues to attract attention, companies and platforms are increasingly exploring ways to bring physical trading cards onto the blockchain through tokenization.
This could make Pokémon cards more accessible to digital markets and introduce new models for ownership and trading. However, tokenized collectibles remain an emerging area, and their value and liquidity can fluctuate significantly.
